WASHINGTON, DC (KELO.com) — Seven years and counting. That’s how long it’s been since Congress has passed a farm bill, so the nation’s farmers are operating under the third consecutive farm bill extension. The U-S House recently passed its version, and it’s now being considered in the Senate. Senator John Thune sits on the Agriculture Committee. He says most of the provisions have been approved in the last year and he’s hopeful to finish that work. He’s also hoping the final product will include year-round approval of E-15 ethanol sales, which would help corn producers.
