Doeden campaign walking back criticism of Aberdeen legislative legend

ABERDEEN, SD (KELO.com) — Republican Gubernatorial Candidate Toby Doeden is walking back criticism of a legislative legend from his hometown.  He posted a video to YouTube saying South Dakota should cancel its runoff rule, and said whoever created it should be discredited.  It was authored and pushed through the legislature in the 1980’s by the late Joe Barnett – a Republican who served in legislative leadership for 19 years.  Doeden’s campaign says the comments were made in jest, and called Barnett a great and highly respected leader.
