McKenna Wendel
SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — It’s been nearly three months since the disappearance and death of 14 year old McKenna Wendel of Sioux Falls, and charges in the case are expected soon. Attorney General Marty Jackley says the case is a priority, but is complicated because it involves three states and multiple jurisdictions. “It’s been a little challenging – not from the investigation side, that is complete – but on the jurisdiction side, because it involves several counties here in South Dakota. It also involves Minnesota and Iowa.”
Jackley was present when Wendel’s body was recovered near Brookings. The Attorney General says autopsy results confirmed to him that there was wrongdoing in her death, and he says charges are expected yet this month.
