DOUGLAS COUNTY, SD (KELO.com) — A Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy who was a candidate for Sheriff has been removed from office. There hasn’t been any information released on why Josh Knodel was terminated. The Douglas County Auditor says the sheriff has sole authority to discipline and terminate deputies. Christine Lau defeated Knodel in the Republican Primary for Douglas County Sheriff on a vote of 537-504.
