SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls fire crews responded to a house fire on North Hudson Ave late yesterday afternoon.
Fire Rescue says they found smoke coming out of the home’s attic and worked for several hours to put the fire out and take care of debris.
One person was displaced by the fire, but no one was injured. The full release from the city is below:
On November 29th, 2020, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Sioux Falls Fire Rescue was dispatched to a report of a structure fire in the 800 block of North Hudson Ave. Initial reports were that there was dark black smoke coming from the back door of the residence. The first arriving fire crew found moderate smoke coming from the roof of the house. Crews were able to quickly extinguish fire on the exterior of the building. They then entered the structure to extinguish fire in the attic area of the residence. Crews then worked for several hours to remove fire debris and ensure the fire was out.
There were no injuries reported from either civilians or responders. One person was displaced by the fire and was assisted by the American Red Cross. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with 5 fire trucks, 2 support vehicles, and 18 firefighters.
