SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls Development Foundation is looking for room to grow. The foundation has sold more than 900 acres of land in development parks in the last eight years, and needs to find more. Foundation CEO Bob Mundt told Minnehaha County Commissioners this morning that the last several years have generated a lot of value, and a lot of jobs. “In 2017 the value of land that we owned was $28-million. Now it’s somewhere north of $1.2 billion, and we have roughly 8,300 jobs.” There are a number of major projects happening in Foundation park. Amazon is adding a second facility, CJ Schwans is adding more space, and of course, the Smithfield Foods project is in early planning stages.
