UNDATED (KELO.com) — 70-percent of the nation’s farmers say they can’t afford to buy all the fertilizer they need for this year’s crop. That’s according to a nationwide survey conducted by the American Farm Bureau. Fertilizer and fuel prices have spiked by 30-percent or more since the Iran war began. South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal says this year’s crop will probably be the most expensive farmers have ever planted.
