SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Piece by piece, a major drug ring is being taken down in Federal court in Sioux Falls. A Los Angeles man will spend the next 23 years in federal prison for his role in a drug trafficking operation that transported large amounts of meth and fentanyl from California to South Dakota. 43-year old Dejuan Croom was sentenced after pleading guilty to charges in January. The group distributed the drugs in the Sioux Falls area.
At the same time, 32-year old Alysia Peneaux of Sioux Falls will call a federal prison home for the next ten years. Up until recently, her Sioux Falls home was known as a ‘stash house’ for methamphetamine. She pleaded guilty to drug distribution and conspiracy charges in January and was sentenced this week. U-S Attorney Ron Parsons says Peneaux admitted to personally distributing more than 500-grams of meth in the Sioux Falls area.
