SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — There were some sparks in the air Monday night as the four republican candidates for governor met on a debate stage in Sioux Falls. There was criticism of the property tax relief measures passed by this year’s legislature being funded by sales taxes. We’re also featuring the gubernatorial candidates on KELO-AM 1320 this week, highlighting some of their main talking points. For State House Speaker Jon Hansen, it comes down to fighting tax breaks for hyper scale data centers.
Hansen says, “I don’t think South Dakotans should have to give Mark Zuckerberg and other big tech billionaires massive tax breaks, so when those bills came before the legislature we were able to kill those bills.
