YANKTON, SD (KELO.com) — A Yankton man has been sentenced to life in prison in a grizzly murder case from early last year. Craig Nichols, Jr. was scheduled to stand trial this summer, but changed his plea to guilty but Mentally Ill on a 2nd Degree murder charge. Nichols stabbed Heather Bodden over 70 times and severed her head. He has been diagnosed with schizophrenia.
