PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — The South Dakota House has rejected a bill to give voters more time to force an election on school opt-outs on property-tax levies. Supporters say the current law makes referrals unrealistic in larger districts like Sioux Falls. The bill failed on a 34-32 vote, close enough to warrant reconsideration.
