SIOUX FALLS, SD – Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc. (DTSF) has canceled the 2020 Parade of Lights to ensure public safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. The parade was scheduled for the evening of November 27, 2020.
“Downtown is an enchanting place to experience during the holidays. This year, however, the Parade of Lights will not be part of the holiday offerings.” – Joe Batcheller, DTSF President
The parade was going to be changed into a static event. Floats were going to be stationary and people would have come to them to look at them.
But that’s no longer the case with the cancellation.
DTSF is promoting a safe and healthy holiday shopping season. Businesses are encouraged to take the Safer Sioux Falls Pledge (siouxfalls.org/pledge/form). DTSF also encourages people to mask up and shop local all season long in downtown.
More information regarding Small Business Saturday and the holiday season in Downtown Sioux Falls will be provided next week in a forthcoming press release.
