PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — A new report on South Dakota shows economic strength, but there are challenges in the areas of work force recruiting and housing. The start of operations at the High Plains Processing plant near Mitchell is a bright spot – providing jobs as well as higher prices for area soybean producers. The report covers the third quarter of 2025 and is a collaborative effort between Dakota Wesleyan University, the Mitchell Area Development Corporation and the Secretary of State’s office.
