South Dakota (KELO.com) — The move to home schooling is also hitting public school enrollment. It increased by 143% between 2015 and last year. That’s the largest increase for any state in the nation. Public School Districts receive about seven thousand dollars in state aid for each student, so the exodus is costly. More than 60-million dollars in state aid funding was lost due to home schooling.
