Signatures are being collected for new sales tax to replace property taxes

A Constitutional Amendment to replace property taxes with a retail transaction tax may be headed to South Dakota’s ballot next year. Attorney General Marty Jackley has released the final ballot explanation of the proposal. It will be on the ballot if enough valid signatures are collected on petitions.
