Brookings, SD (KELO.com) — A 19-year-old Brookings man is under arrest on charges of physically abusing his three-month-old daughter. The infant was transferred to a Sioux Falls hospital for treatment of multiple fractures of the ribs and extremities, and a possible brain bleed. Investigators say Bailey Melchor abused the child by throwing, striking, squeezing and choking her. He’s being held in the Brookings County Detention Center.
