Local law enforcement says crime stats are headed in the right direction in the Sioux Falls area. Arrests for reckless driving and speeding are nearly doubled from last year, but that’s due to increased enforcement. Other major crimes are down on a per-capita basis to their lowest level in six years. One area of concern, the local jail population is seeing a lot of repeat offenders return to confinement.
