Senate Majority Leader asking Democrats for a short-term resolution to keep the government from shutting down

WASHINGTON, DC (KELO.com) — From all appearances, the nation is headed for a government shutdown in less than 48 hours.  Senate Majority Leader John Thune says Republicans are asking Democrats to approve a short-term continuing resolution to fund the government.  He says that is something Democrats did 13 times during the Biden Administration years.  Thune appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press to make his point yesterday.  Senator Thune says the standoff is nothing more than political posturing by Democrats.
