An employee at a business in the 43-hundred block of East 12th street saw Baruti Ndadyo going through a vehicle.
Police Information officer, Sergeant Aaron Benson says when the employee confronted the man he was assaulted.
Benson says Ndadyo also threatened others in the area with a pickaxe before leaving.
Police arrested him a short time later.
