Fiery plane crash in Brookings over the weekend

A fiery plane crash in Brookings over the weekend injured three people. Pilot Evan Koep and front-seat passenger Hayden Kerkart were both airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital for treatment of contusions, abrasions and burns.
Rear-seat passenger Caden Walkes suffered minor injuries and was treated at the Brookings hospital.
The Dakota Scout reports the three were headed to Montana for Saturday night’s SDSU football game.
The plane had just taken off.
Engine problems were reported, but the cause is under investigation.
