STURGIS, SD (KELO.com) — The 85th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is officially open for business. The annual Mayor’s Ride departed Sturgis Friday morning. It normally goes to Mount Rushmore, but Mayor Kevin Forrester says that wasn’t possible this year because of a major road reconstruction project. The ride concludes with lunch at Custer State Park. The event provides support for several local charities.
