SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Chances are strong Sioux Falls will remain home to the men’s state penitentiary. The Project Prison Reset Task force voted Tuesday to recommend construction of a new 15-hundred bed prison in northeast Sioux Falls, with a 650-million dollar price cap. Task Force chair, Lieutenant Governor Tony Venhuizen called the group to support the plan. The vote was unanimously in favor of the plan. That recommendation now goes to the full legislature, which will be called into a special legislative session.
