SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A new study says Sioux Falls has the third best unemployment rate recovery for a city in September.
That’s according to a report from WalletHub.
Their findings based on Bureau of Labor Statistics is below:
Change in Sioux Falls Unemployment Due to Coronavirus (1=Most Recovered, 90=Avg.):
- 38.72% Change in Unemployment (September 2020 vs September 2019)
- 3,909 unemployed people in September 2020 vs 2,818 in September 2019;
- 5th best recovery in the U.S.
- 5.14% Change in Unemployment (September 2020 vs January 2020)
- 3,909 unemployed people in September 2020 vs 3,718 in January 2020;
- 2nd best recovery in the U.S.
- 3.70% Official Unemployment Rate (September 2020) (Adjusted Rate*: 3.89%)
- 5th lowest unemployment rate in the U.S.
*Adjusted for the BLS error that failed to classify some workers on temporary layoffs as unemployed.
