YANKTON, SD (KELO.com) — They showed up for work this morning – and discovered they no longer had jobs. That was the shock faced by about 300 employees at Cimpl Meats in Yankton. Yankton Thrive CEO Nancy Wenande says city officials learned of the move at the same time as employees. Cimpl Meats has been a fixture in Yankton for 76 years. Parent company American Foods Group says the location wasn’t profitable, so operations are being moved to a new plant in Missouri.
