PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — A legislative committee has provided a partial reprieve for South Dakota’s State Library program. The Library service was facing a number of budget cuts due to lagging sales tax revenues. The legislature’s joint appropriations committee so far has agreed to cut only redundant services. Mitchell Senator Paul Miskimins sits on the appropriations committee. He says library services that are popular with state residents have been saved from the budget axe. Officials say most citizens won’t see any disruption in services.
