SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — It’s been three days since a fatal shootout between the police and an armed man at a Sioux Falls apartment building.
We still don’t know the official cause of death, although the man was found shot in the head.
An autopsy should be completed later this week.
The man’s identity is also still under wraps.
Officer Sam Clemens says as soon as the first officer arrived, the suspect started shooting.
The first officer withdrew.
A second officer approached from the opposite direction and fired their weapon, killing the suspect.
The Division of Criminal Investigation is investigating the lethal use of force in the incident.
Police were originally called to an apartment where the suspect would not leave.
