ROCHESTER, MN (KELO.com) — Mayo Clinic is suing Sanford Health Plan over more than 700-thousand dollars’ worth of medical bills. The Rochester, Minnesota-based Mayo Clinic filed the lawsuit in Minnesota District Court a few weeks back in December. These medical bills being fought over are from 2022, according to court documents. The lawsuit complaint says, “The result of Sanford’s negligent and material misrepresentations is that Mayo has gone unpaid for more than two years for the health care goods and service it provided.” Sanford has since motioned to dismiss the lawsuit, arguing it’s not responsible for the medical expenses “just because Mayo failed to follow standard Medicaid procedure.” The Mayo lawsuit also claims that Sanford somehow breached a contract between them. A motion hearing on the lawsuit is set for February 11th.
