SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls community can help beef up the Sioux Empire’s blood supply with a special community blood drive at Outback Steakhouse this coming Friday.
Community Blood Bank, Outback, and KELO Radio are partnering up to put on the event. Participants will receive a free steak lunch as a thank-you for their donation.
“The need for blood donations during the COVID-19 pandemic cannot be overstated, as we face one of the most difficult times to maintain an adequate blood supply for our local hospitals,” Ken Versteeg, Executive Director, Community Blood Bank, said in a release. “With people addressing elective surgeries and a critical need for blood to treat many types of medical issues, we are experiencing a surge in the demand for blood. These needs are met through volunteer, community residents coming forward to give blood and impact our community.”
Those interested need to make an appointment ahead of time. More information can be found at cbblifeblood.org.
