SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — They may never be released for the rest of their lives.
Two inmates at the South Dakota State Penitentiary have been found guilty of assaulting two correctional officers.
Inmates Lester Monroe and Kyle Jones face up to 100 years for their violent assault on the officers in August of last year.
One officer was struck more than 70 times.
The attack occurred in Unit D of the Jameson Annex in Sioux Falls.
Both officers were treated and released.
A sentencing date has yet to be set.
