OMAHA, NE (KELO.com) — Our regional manufacturing economy is having a hard time finding a direction. Creighton University’s Mid-American manufacturing Index shows it has vacillated between positive and negative territory all year long. But, Creighton Economist, Dr. Ernie Goss says one area of manufacturing that is consistently negative is jobs.
Manufacturing supply managers interviewed for the Index are pessimistic about the economic outlook. Over 40-percent of them expect a sharp recession in the next six months.
