SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Minnehaha County is on track to set a new record for absentee voting.
The Auditors Office says that, so far, over 14, 200 absentee ballots have been received for the November election, still weeks away. This number was as of October 5.
The current record was just over 20,000 for this year’s June Primary.
County Auditor Bob Litz reminds voters to get their absentee ballots into the Auditor in a timely manner, so they are not late and uncounted. Absentee ballots within ten days of the election should be hand delivered.
Concerns about COVID-19 have been having a significant impact on the levels of absentee and mail-in voting nationwide.
