SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Minnehaha County Commissioners are being accused of treason…and they don’t take very kindly to the accusation. The charge came during the public comment section of the commission meeting. At issue is a lack of control over RV’ers who license their vehicles in South Dakota, and register to vote. The meeting was quickly adjourned as things were getting out of hand.
State law requires voters to live in the state for at least 30 days prior to registering to vote…but that requirement conflicts with the federal Voting Rights Act. Commissioners are hoping the legislature will clear up the conflict.
