SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls police had a heavy police presence outside two schools after checking on the well-being of a person on Monday. Authorities were informed the person they were looking for was in the area of East 3rd Street and North Bahnson Avenue. While searching, police received information that the person was potentially armed. A short time later, nearby Washington High School and Anne Sullivan elementary school were put into a shelter-in-place. A separate report indicated there was an active shooter inside Washington High School, but authorities found that report was not credible. Police later located the person tied to the well-being check and said there was no danger to the public.
