SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — It could be the first step in the departure of the Brockhouse Collection from Sioux Falls. The Brockhouse Collection workgroup began advertising the availability of the specimens that made up the Brockhouse Museum of Natural History. Parks Director Don Kearney says the hope is another organization will be interested in providing a new home for the extensive taxidermy collection of safari animals.
Local businessman Henry Brockhouse collected the specimens during safari hunts in the 1940’s through the 70’s. Interested organizations will have until December to submit expressions of interest for the collection.
