YANKTON, SD (KELO.com) — At least one South Dakota school – Gettysburg – is banning the use of cell phones during the school day, and more may be on the way. School Superintendents were encouraged by state education Secretary Joe Graves to discuss the issue with staff at their recent state conference. Yankton Superintendent Wayne Kindle says concerns run both ways.
Kindle admits cell phones are sometimes disruptive in the classroom. But he says most of the time students will put them away when asked.
