BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO.com) — It’s a big award for a growing program.
The medical laboratory science program at South Dakota State University has received a $750,000 award from the Association of Public Health Laboratories to promote the medical laboratory profession in South Dakota.
In addition to new equipment and technology, the funds will also be used to improve recruiting and grow programs within the department through increased scholarship support.
Lab tests inform approximately two-thirds of all medical decisions made by physicians.
