MOBILE, AL (KELO.com) — The hull of the USS Pierre is about to meet the water. City and state officials are at the shipyard in Mobile, Alabama, where the ship is being christened this weekend. Pierre Mayor Steve Harding is excited to be able to witness the event.
Following the christening, the USS Pierre will begin sea trials, which will take about a year to complete.
