SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — New details are being released in an officer involved shooting that happened last Thursday in Sioux Falls. Sheriff Deputies were attempting to serve a warrant for a mental illness hold to A suspect at an assisted living center. The suspect threatened deputies with two knives, resulting in officers firing three shots. this is the first officer-involved shooting in South dakota in 2024. The suspect was hospitalized, and there is no word on his condition. The South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation is reviewing evidence of the shooting to ensure the actions of the officers were justified.
