Nine charged in large street racing case from October

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — On a warm summer night, the unmistakable sounds of street racing fill the air around Sioux Falls.  Last fall officers responded to complaints in the area of North Sycamore and East Benson – where they found about 50 people.  Thursday morning, Lieutenant Andrew Siebenborn of the Traffic Division announced charges related to those races.

Of the nine suspects, four are from Sioux Falls, with others coming from Watertown, Valley Springs, Harrisburg and Inwood, Iowa.

Lieutenant Siebenborn says officers are working to get ahead of the problem before the motors start revving up again this spring.
