PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — Landowners were hoping for some protection from CO2 pipeline company surveyors, but their first effort failed in a House Committee yesterday. Leola area farmer Mark Lapka said surveyors from Summit Carbon Solutions used aggressive tactics, but farmers could do nothing about it because of a court order.
A house committee defeated a bill that would have restricted surveying activities of pipeline companies. Landowners say they have several other bills aimed at stopping the pipeline projects.
