ABERDEEN, SD (KELO.com) — Carbon Capture pipeline opponents are mapping strategy and gearing up for the 2024 South Dakota Legislative session. They are proposing several bills…and also preparing to fight measures they expect from pipeline supporters. Spink County Farmer Ed Fischbach is one of the group’s leaders.
They’ll ask legislators to support several bills, including one to strip eminent domain powers from pipeline companies. Both sides of the CO-2 pipeline debate are focused on one issue – eminent domain.
Fischbach says his group is concerned about efforts to overrule county and township governments who have approved restrictions on the pipeline companies.
