SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — It’s National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this week that will be marked by the annual “Take Back the Night” event. Amy Carter of the Children’s Home Shelter for Family Safety says the need for protection is growing.
77 people per day are housed in the safety shelter, compared to 52 per day a year ago. The Take Back the Night event will be held at the University of Sioux Falls this Thursday evening.
