SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — A celebration of Native American culture made its way through downtown late this morning in the form of a parade. The parade was headed up by 94-year old Opal Stars, who never expected to be Grand Marshal of a parade.
The event is also meaningful to Parade Chair Char Green.
Historically it was known as Columbus day, in honor of the explorer who discovered the Americas. Now, it celebrates the people who were here before his arrival.
