Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
That was my reaction to the video of a Black Lives Matter rioter who jumped on the hood of a police cruiser. Let’s say it ended badly with the rioter rolling over the top of the cruiser and landing hard on the ground as the cruiser sped off.
The Marin Youth Liberation Front responded with the following tweet, “The fact that CHP is now utilizing the same tactics as fascists in regards to vehicular attacks is terrifying. There’s no explanation or apology for this. Justice can only come from total abolition.”

If you’re unfamiliar with the Marin Youth Liberation Front (and who isn’t), they describe themselves on Twitter as “Autonomous Youth Collective From NorCal Using Direct Action For Total Liberation”.
Another of their tweets says, “CHP just ran over a protester. Abolish the Police now.”
The video below gives us a front row seat to watch it happen.
It’s hard to believe there are actually adults who never learned that jumping on top of a police vehicle will never end well, yet here we are…pic.twitter.com/VHiq2Ihvzu

I’ve entertained myself with thoughts of what happened once the rioter went home. I suspect it may have played out like a scene between Eric and Red Forman on “That 70’s Show”.
“What the hell happened to you?” Red asks.
Eric (sporting bruises and tears) tells Red that he was protesting at the event. He explains how to decided to jump on the police car and tumbled up and over the car and down on to the pavement.
“Dumb ass,” Red replies as he buries his head in the newspaper.
I suspect my Dad would have had the same reaction.
