SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A traffic stop along Interstate 29 in Union County led authorities to a missing child.
On July 8th, Union County Sheriff Deputies stopped a vehicle for suspicion of driving under the influence.
During the stop, a 14-year-old child was found sleeping in the backseat.
Through their investigation, the Deputies discovered that the child was a missing person from St. Louis, Missouri.
The male driver and female passenger drove from Montana to pick the child up in St. Louis, and were planning on taking them back to Montana.
The pair was arrested on numerous drug charges, DUI, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
Authorities are working on returning the child to his home in Missouri.
