WASHINGTON, DC (KELO.com) — The USDA says South Dakota’s Spring Wheat and corn crops may be in trouble. Dry conditions have more than two-thirds of the wheat crop in fair to very poor condition. USDA meteorologist Brad Rippey says rain is expected to be spotty, and probably won’t give producers much help.
Most of the main corn and soybean belt in the upper Midwest is also short of moisture with crops struggling to survive.
