BRIDGEWATER, SD (KELO.com) — The crops are in–now the waiting game begins. We’re following Bridgewater area farmer Jason Hofer through the growing season this year. After non-stop efforts over two weeks, he’s ready to put the planter away.
All that remains now is waiting-and praying-for rain to come soon. The moisture is needed as much for weed control as it is to give the crops a good drink.
With the planting done, Hofer is moving on to other projects…like hauling corn to market and rebuilding storage and grain drying equipment destroyed by last year’s derecho.
Hofer says rain is needed soon to activate herbicide and keep weeds in control.
