Rep. Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.)
WASHINGTON, DC (KELO.com) — They’re cutting it close on raising the nation’s debt ceiling. White House and Congressional Republicans reached a compromise package over the weekend, but it still needs congressional approval. The Treasury Department says the country could be unable to pay all its bills if the package isn’t finalized by next Monday. Congressman Dusty Johnson helped negotiate the deal.
The package raises the debt ceiling and limits federal spending increases for two years.
