Legislature’s Appropriations Committee examining Medicaid expansion progress

YANKTON, SD (KELO.com) — Medicaid Expansion is back on the table this week for South Dakota Legislators.  The Joint Appropriations Committee will be taking the financial pulse on spending.  Committee Chair Senator Jean Hunhoff of Yankton expects big changes in Medicaid Coverage as the COVID emergency ends.

The committee is managing the changes produced when voters approved a constitutional amendment to expand Medicaid coverage in the state.
