SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Street construction update:
Reminder – Lane Closures – 41st Street
Beginning on Monday, August 31, 2020, traffic on 41st Street from Hawthorne Avenue to Minnesota Avenue will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction as work begins on the 41st Street Mill and Overlay project. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times.
Work on this project will include miscellaneous pavement repairs, asphalt milling, and an asphalt overlay.
This project is expected to be complete and fully open to traffic by late fall of 2020.
Drivers are urged to use caution and reduce their speed while traveling near the construction area and may want to consider alternate routes.
Lane Closures – Tenth Street
Beginning on Monday, August 31, 2020, intermittent closures of the outside eastbound and westbound lanes of Tenth Street will be in place between Sycamore Avenue and Cleveland Avenue to allow construction crews to perform storm drainage repairs. One lane of traffic in both directions will be maintained at all times.
This work is expected to be complete in approximately two weeks.

Lane Closure – Shirley Avenue
Beginning on Monday, August 31, 2020, the northbound lane of Shirley Avenue will be closed for 200 feet north of 41st Street. Construction crews will be installing a new signal footing.
Work is expected to be completed by Tuesday, September 1, 2020.
This work will be completed by Lloyd Companies in conjunction with the redevelopment of the property adjacent to 41st Street. Drivers are encouraged to utilize other mall entrances to visit the Empire Mall.

Bailey Street Closure
Beginning on Monday, August 31, 2020, Bailey Street will be closed to thru traffic from North West Avenue to the entrance of the north CCL Label building to allow contractors to perform street repairs. Access will be maintained to residences and businesses in this area. This closure is expected to last for two weeks.
This is the next phase of a project to reconstruct Bailey Street between West Avenue and Main Avenue. Improvements will include upgrading the water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, accessible curb ramps and asphalt surfacing. The project is anticipated to be complete by November 2020.
